TDTC's flyball team the Torpedoes, will be hosting their own competition Flyball Fun in the Sun, as part of the 2009 Tuggeranong Community Festival.

It has been an exciting year so far for the Torpedoes - the highlight being their win at the National Flyball Championships on 17 and 18 October in Castle Hill in Sydney. The Torpedoes have also had wins in their division at the following competitions.

• Flyball Frolic Competition - held by Companion Dog club on 7 November
• The Irish Flyball Fling competition - held by K9 Krusaders in Boorowa in conjunction with the Boorowa Irish Wool Festival

The Torpedoes have also competed in the following competitions in 2009:

• Australia Day mock comp at the Old Parliament House lawns on 26 January
• The Canberra Royal Show competition on 28 February and 1 March (where the Howling Torpedoes placed 1 st in their division)
• A demo at the Boorowa Show on 8 March
• A demo at the Dogs Day Out on 15 March
• ‘Hounds in the Hills’ competition at Castle Hill in Sydney on 22 March
• Camden Show Flyball at Camden NSW on 28 March
• ‘Purina Good Friday Flyball Flurry’ at the Royal Easter Show in Sydney on 10 April
• Million Paws Walk ACT competition on 17 May in Commonwealth Park
• Chills in the Hills in Castle Hill in Sydney on 7 June
• Dapto Flyball Comp in Dapto on 11 July
• Surf n Turf competition at Kioloa Beach (north of Bateman's Bay) on 5 September
