Like most community based organisations, TDTC tries to keep its
membership costs down, to allow most people the ability to attend
dog training.
The funds that are raised through memberships are used for the
maintenance and upkeep of the grounds in Greenway. There isn't
a lot left over at the end of the year to allow for equipment
development, Instructor training and other activities that allow
TDTC to grow and provide meaningful service to the community.
A major fundraising initiative for the Club over the next 12
months is to install the last part of the sealed carpark and start
work on the clubhouse. As can be imagined, these are not inexpensive
activities.
To that end, the membership funds are bolstered by a fairly strong
fundraising drive! There is always something on.
We are always looking for new, novel, profitable and cost effective
ways of raising money! To date, some of our fundraising initiatives
include:
- Trivia Nights - generally an annual event with a great time
had by everyone who attends. Keep checking for updates on the
next night;
- Socks - High Quality, Woolen socks by "Sock-It to you"
Australia - a favourite in the winter;
- Bulbs - lovely bulbs to colour your garden and house;
- Chocolates - always popular.
